Lewis Crest Rottweilers

     I think the most difficult decision in deciding to breed Rottweilers was coming up with a Kennel Name. My Wife and I wanted something that was meaningful, yet worthy of such a Noble breed as the Rottweiler. We finally decided on Lewis Crest, as "Lewis" is our Family Name which originated in Wales many centuries ago, similar to the Rottweiler in that they were to have originated from Molosser dogs in Rome many centuries ago as well.

     The Lewis Family Crest (Pictured Below) is our symbol of strength and readiness to take on the challenges of raising and breeding such a misunderstood dog such as the Rottweiler, in that the Silver Lion is on a Mount against a black background, ready to face any obstacles that get in its way.  The motto “Patriae Fidus” meaning faithful to ones country, is how my Wife and I feel about the land we live in, as we both would not want to live anywhere else but in America. However we must also be faithful to Germany, as that is from where the Rottweiler originates and where the “True Rottweiler” is still today!

     We made the mistake early on in that we thought we would not be true to our country if we purchased and bred Rottweilers from Germany, and therefore sought out and purchased puppies from breeders here in America, much to our dismay we found out within a couple of years that the Rottweilers that were currently being bred here were not of the same quality as the Rottweilers being bred in Germany.  We vowed to change that, and hence Lewis Crest Rottweilers was began using the BEST German Lines we could afford.
 
     Most of our dogs currently are from the vom Hause Neubrand Line, which have strong influences from Rick von Burgthann, Doc von der Teufelsbrucke and several other very well known Dogs in Germany.  This is the foundation of the von der Lewis Crest line of dogs, as these are the best dogs Germany has to offer.
